Weekly Maintenance
Perform weekly maintenance after every 40–60 hours of operation. Estimated time: 30–45 minutes.
Hydraulic System
| Task | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Check oil sample | Draw a sample from the drain valve. Oil should be clear/translucent. Cloudy or dark oil indicates contamination or degradation. |
| Inspect suction strainer | If a suction strainer is present (and serviceable), remove and clean. Do not damage the mesh. |
| Check filter bypass indicators | All return, off-line, and suction filter indicators must be in the green zone. |
| Inspect hoses for chafing | Look at areas where hoses rub against guards, frames, or other hoses. |
| Drain water from tank | Open the tank drain valve briefly. If water or emulsion appears, investigate the cooler for leaks. |
| Check pump coupling | Listen for irregular clicking from the coupling area. |
Lubrication System
| Task | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Central lubrication pump | Verify pump operates during the automatic lubrication cycle. |
| Grease fittings | Wipe clean and inspect for damage. Replace missing or damaged fittings. |
| Manual lube points | Apply grease to manual lube points per the machine lubrication chart. |
| Slideways / guide rails | Wipe old grease from guide rails and reapply fresh grease. |
Cooling System
| Task | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Cooler / heat exchanger | Check both sides for fouling. Clean cooler fins (air-cooled) or tubes (water-cooled) if needed. |
| Water filter / strainer | Clean or replace. |
| Cooling tower (if shared) | Check water quality (pH 6.5–8.0, no visible algae). |
Mechanical System
| Task | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Tie bar nut alignment | Check alignment marks. A shifted mark indicates loose nut — re-torque to specification. |
| Moving platen guide shoes | Check clearance and wear. Adjust if necessary. |
| Ejector mechanism | Cycle ejector fully. Listen for binding or uneven motion. |
| Screw drive belt (EM series) | Check belt tension and wear. Adjust if deflection exceeds 10 mm at mid-span. |
Electrical System
| Task | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Cabinet fan filters | Remove, wash with soapy water, dry, and reinstall. |
| Cabinet internal temperature | Measure with infrared thermometer. Should be < 45°C. |
| Cable carrier / drag chain | Inspect for broken links, chafed cables. |
| Connector tightness | Check main motor power connectors, servo connectors. |
Take photos of the oil sight glass, filter indicators, and tie bar marks weekly. Comparing photos over time helps spot gradual changes.
